3D Printing Meetup

Join us for bots and banter!

Members of CORMUG pose with their 3D printers at the 2012 Columbus Mini Maker Faire

Learn 3D printing at the Columbus Idea Foundry!

Every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:00pm at the Columbus Idea Foundry.  Free & open to the public, but RSVPs appreciated!

Summer 2013:  June 12 (RSVP here), July 10, August 14.

If you’re excited about 3D printing technology, then this is the place to be! Whether you’re interested in rapid prototyping and micro-manufacturing, or just like to tinker, we invite you to come, watch, print, and learn with us.

The Central Ohio RepRap and Makerbot Operators User Group (CORMUG) has been active since 2009. We have a wide variety of DIY 3D printers: from Makerbot Industries Cupcake CNC printers, to MendelMax variants of the RepRap Mendel, to the occasional Thing-O-Matic and Replicator 1. Our members are also experienced with the nuts-and-bolts of 3D printing, and they’re happy to share advice on everything from how to close up the mesh on your CAD files, to best practices regarding heated build surfaces. We mostly work with ABS and PLA printing materials, but we’ve got some PVA (poly vinyl alcohol, a water-soluble support material) although nobody’s run it through their printers yet!

Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, starting at 7pm.

For updates visit the CORMUG Forum.
