Blacksmithing Basics
Instructor: Aldai Stein
The class will teach basic blacksmithing techniques (using hammer tongs, working with the anvil and forge, drawing out a point, twisting and bending hot metal) by working on several small projects.
Age requirements are 16 & up with a parent present for minors. The parent does not need to participate in order for the child to do so. Please bring safety glasses and an apron if you have them. Natural fiber clothing is also a must.
Bladesmithing from Start to Finish
Instructor: Adlai Stein
Attendees will make a full tang knife from start to finish over 3 day long class. Participants will forge, grind, temper and finish a knife from a bar of high carbon steel. The knife will be finished using a wooden slab handle on the knife attached with brass rivets. Please bring safety glasses and an apron if you have them. Natural fiber clothing is a must.
Reminder this is a 3 day class. Please make sure you are available for all 3 days.
