2013 Columbus Arts Festival
The CIF will be presenting a number of live demos outside of the Big Local Arts Tent at this year’s Columbus Arts Fest. Our members will also be exhibiting and vending their creations inside!

North Market Artisan Sundays
CIF members and studio residents will be at the North Market Artisan Sundays this summer, selling their arts and handcrafted wares, as well as providing demos and information about the CIF. Artisan Sundays features a wide selection of local artists and craftsmen and special live music performances.
You’ll find us there at the following Sundays: June 9, July 7, August 4, September 8, and October 6.

Monthly Meet-Ups
Lock Picking
Monthly: Third Wednesdays, 6-9pm.
Haven’t you always wanted to learn to pick locks? Join Locksport International and instructor Bill Sempf for a fun monthly meet-up at Columbus Idea Foundry.
3D Printing
Monthly: Second Wednesdays, 7-10pm.
3D printing enthusiasts are invited to join Ethan Dicks and members of the Central Ohio Reprap and Makerbot Operators User Group for a monthly gathering at the Columbus idea Foundry. Bring your own machine, or come watch and ask questions!

Open House and Artist Exhibit
Next: July, date TBD; Free & open to the public.
Join us for a tour and sample the works of our talented artists & craftsmen who will be selling and displaying their work. Meet instructors, ask questions, and see first hand what you can learn to make here. Participate in optional make-and-take stations; at our Spring Open House these included pewter casting and personalized lasered acrylic earbud holders, terrariums and kokedama. Mix and mingle with fellow Makers over complimentary refreshments.

Columbus Mini Maker Faire
The Columbus Idea Foundry is proud to have organized the first ever Columbus Mini Maker Faire in September 2012. The event, which took place at COSI, attracted artists, DIYers, makers, and technology enthusiasts from all over Greater Columbus! We’re looking forward to 2013, details to follow but we’ve set a date for Sunday October 13th noon-6pm at COSI with an after-party to follow at the CIF!
Ohio Tool Race Championship
We’ve been holding the Tool Race Championship every year since 2008. Entrants build custom powertool-powered racing machines, and then send then whirring, grinding, and buzzing down a wooden track. Plug ‘em in, and let ‘er rip! Stay tuned at toolraces.com.
