Fusing Glass
(Previously called Warm Glass 101 an Intro to Glass Fusing)

This class is an introduction to Glass fusing. During this workshop attendees will create several glass Christmas ornaments and obtain the skills to complete their own projects.
You will learn the properties of glass, including:
- how glass reacts under heat.
- how to cut glass.
- how to prepare a project for the kiln.
- how to operate the kiln.
- how to finish a project.
- Introduction to cold working
Due to the length of time required to fire the kiln the workshop will meet twice. The first class will last 2 – 3 hours during which you will create projects and prepare them for the kiln. The second class, after the pieces have been fired in the kiln, will be about an hour. We will finish any work remaining and discuss cold working glass.
This class is a prerequisite for the Slumping and Draping class.
Stained Glass 101

Instructor: Don Sell
Learn the fundamentals of creating beautiful stained glass during this class which teaches foil wrapped and soldered stained glass.
During this 3 day class over a 3 week period, participants will learn elements of designing for stained glass, the tools and techniques for cutting glass, how to use grinders and the ring saw for shaping glass, and how to foil stained glass pieces.
Day 1 will cover designing the panel and becoming acquainted with the tools to be used. During this class participants will be given guidelines for purchasing the glass they need to complete their design.
Day 2 will cover cutting the glass the participant has purchased for their design and foiling.
Day 3 will cover soldering and finishing the panel. Participants will be able to patina the final piece, if desired.
Each attendee will take home a finished 12 in. by 12 in. stained glass panel of their own design.
Reminder: this class meets once a week for three weeks.
Glass Slumping – Sushi Plates

Instructor: Don Sell
In the Glass Slumping class, participants will make a sushi plate with a matching wasabi dish. Learn the fundamentals of slumping and take home beautiful matching plates. This is a two day class. The first day we will create glass tiles using various COE 90 glass with dichroic glass accents, and the second day we will prepare the tiles for slumping in the kiln. This class will explore the processes of slumping into a prepared mold and draping glass over a form. The discussion will also include the use drop rings, texture tiles, and fiber molds.
Reminder this is a 2 day class.
Fusing Glass (previously Warm Glass 101) is a prerequisite to taking Slumping and Draping.
Dichroic Glass Jewelry

Instructor: Don Sell
This class is an introduction to Dichroic Glass Jewelry. During this workshop attendees will create a pendent and pair of earrings while obtaining the skills to complete their own projects.
You will learn the properties of glass, including:
- How to plan and layout a dichroic tile.
- Discuss working with Dichroic glass.
- Make a dichroic tile.
- How to prepare a project for the kiln.
- How to operate the kiln.
- Cut the dichroic tile into pendant and earring shapes.
- How to finish the project.
During the class we will discuss how to attach bails and other jewelry findings.
After the firing, the instructor will attach the bails and attendees can pick up their finished pieces at their leisure.
