The Columbus Idea Foundry is the brainchild of director AlexBandar: a metallurgist engineer by day and perpetual tinkerer by night. Through sweat, dirt, and funding from his day job, the Foundry now celebrates its fourth year–and both Alex and the Foundry are garnering considerable attention.
The Greater Columbus Arts Council named Alex 2011′s Emerging Arts Leader and he was a finalist for TechColumbus’ CEO of the Year for small companies. He has been a speaker at events such as TEDx Columbus, Pecha Kucha Columbus, eTechOhio Education Conference, Universitas Columbus and other science & tech platforms.
Alex earned his M.S. and Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from Lehigh University and is a Senior Research Scientist at Scientific Forming Technologies Corporation.
