Screen Printing Workshop: by Shout Out Loud

Participants will learn:

 

  • How to do screen printing in your home, with a small setup
  • What screen printing is and how it is used
  • Terminology and supplies used in screen printing
  • How to create a stencil on a screen using photo emulsion
  • Screen mesh
  • Film options
  • Exposure methods
  • Inks
  • Print registration
  • How to print one color prints and two color prints
  • Clean up

Participants will get to keep a shirt with their print on it.

Materials provided: squeegees, inks, screens, paper for practice prints.

You need to bring: a shirt or two to print your image on.

 

Participants will have the option to purchase their screen with their image on it for $25 and squeegee for $15 (cash only please) OR pre-order by selecting "Admission + screen kit" from the drop-down menu.

No screen printing experience needed.

If participant would like to print their own artwork send art to shop@shoutoutloudprints.com at least THREE days in advance of the workshop.

Black and white image, solid black (no gradients).  300dpi.  If you need guidance for artwork file feel free to email shop@shoutoutloudprints.com

About the Instructor

Pat Crann is the owner of Shout Out Loud Prints.  Pat has 10 years of screen printing experience starting with printing shirts in his bedroom for friends to now owning a local print shop specializing in shirts, posters, and record packaging.
