Spring Open House & Maker Exhibit

Join us for our second Open HousSpring Open House graphice & Artisan Exhibit at the Columbus Idea Foundry!

See a sampling of our talented artists, artisans, craftsmen, inventors and fabricators as they show off their latest works, many of which will be for sale!

Meet CIF instructors who will be on-hand to showcase the hands-on projects you can make at the Foundry and answer your questions.

We’ll also have some live demonstrations of table-top 3D printing with Ethan Dicks, our electronics & embedded control instructor, and Terry Griner, our metal casting instructor will offer make-and-take pewter casting from your own plaster carving for just $5 per cast! Take home a personalized acrylic ear-bud holder laser cut while you watch also for $5,  or make a terrarium ($25) or kokedama ($10) with Kumiko Matsura!  KT_email

Over a third of our 115-member community represent creative entrepreneurs– some will be on hand to demonstrate their latest inventions and projects, from a customizable tailgate system to a Raspberry Pi-driven indoor hydroponic agriculture system.  The CIF has been home to successful Kickstarter campaigns and our members enjoy the tools & tech needed to turn product ideas into reality!

The event is free & open to the public, with complementary refreshments.
